The 7th International Medicinal Mushroom Conference First Circular 7-10 July 2013 Nantong, China

The theme of the conference:
Medicinal mushrooms and their products into global healthcare systems in the 21st Century

The international movement for the medicinal mushroom industry marked an important milestone when the International Journal of Medicinal Mushroom (IJMM) was launched in 1999 by Begell House Inc. (USA). This then led to the inaugural International Medicinal Mushroom Conference (IMMC) held in Kiev, Ukraine, in 2001 when it was agreed that there would be an IMMC every two years. The IMMC2 was held in Pattaya, Thailand, in 2003; The IMMC3 was held in Port Townsend, USA, in 2005; and the IMMC4 was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2007. The IMMC5 was held in Nantong, China, in 2009. In 2011 the IMMC6 was held in Zagreb, Croatia. The IMMC7 will be held in Beijing, China, in 2013 due to the wonderful job that was done four years prior.

Beijing, the capital city of the People’s Republic of China, is located in the northern part of China, with an area of more than 16,807 square kilometers and a population of 17.5 million. The city is an 800-year-old capital and has an extremely rich historical and cultural heritage, such as “Beijing opera”, which is lauded as one of the highest achievements of Chinese culture, and has many places of historic interest like Great Wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, and so on. Beijing not only has glorious ancient civilizations, but it’s also a modern city with high-rise buildings, shopping malls, and vast amount of international hotels connected by an intricate freeway system throughout the city. Nowadays, Beijing is China’s political, economic, cultural, and educational centers. Many international airlines also facilitate Beijing as an important center for international trade and communications. After successfully holding the 2008 Olympic Games, Beijing is becoming more and more attractive and open to people from all parts of the world.
